Questioning Your Purpose; What Are You Meant to Do?

I think everyone questions what their purpose is.
With so many aspects that makeup why you’re unique, I don’t think there’s only ONE thing you’re made for…

  • Extrovert or Introvert?
  • Sensing or Intuitive?
  • Thinking or Feeling?
  • Judging or Perceiving?
  • Phlegmatic, Sanguine, Choleric, or Melancholy?
  • Love Language? Physical Touch, Word of Affirmation, Gifts, Quality Time, or Acts of Service
  • What talents do you have?
  • Left or Right Brained?
  • Spiritual Gifts that you’ve received?
  • What strengths do you have?
  • Optimist or Pessimist?
  • What are your passions?

Are you worn out?? Maybe you’ve been asking these questions lately:

“What am I doing with my life?”
“Is this what I’m gonna do forever?”
“Should I go back to school?”
Maybe you just graduated high school are are thinking: “Should I go to college just because my parents say I should?”
“Is this a waste of my time?”

Either way, you’re desired result is (most likely)
“I want to love what I do and get the most out of life while making good enough money to support the lifestyle I choose.”

So, in school, if you have an equation:
and you have two of those, you can figure out the third.
x+y=loving what you do etc…

so if (x) is figuring out your specialized characteristics and personality from the chart above, and (y) is a job then really, since most of us don’t find the job we want to do right away, we should leave (y) to figure out last.

Figure out yourself first.
What were the threads God used to knit together your tapestry?
Since Mi Amor is an artist, I know that if you truly want to know about the work and the truths behind it, you can only ask one person;  the artist. Bystanders might be able to receive the message, but what got the artist to that point? What decisions were made to create it?

So, in order to figure out yourself, you have to talk to your Creator. Let Him define who you are for it will be truth.

As you analyze your personality and characteristic chart, write down your answers somewhere you can see them every day. See these as your own personal recipe; no one can ever replicate it.
Since there are so many facets to you, why do people think there’s ONLY ONE THING IN ONE PLACE YOU WERE MEANT FOR? Where is that in stone?

See your potential. Start noticing when you use your strengths for daily life. Exercise those strengths and make them stronger. Use them intentionally, don’t just whine and say, “I want to do what I love, I’m annoyed because I’m not getting an answer, and I’d rather stay in bed than figure it out.”
Psh, honey, you best get on your feet. No one is going to figure it out for you, if you don’t have the attention span to do it yourself. Life isn’t easy, as I’m sure you know now, so if you don’t like the spot you’re in, work hard for the one you want. Make sure you’re aligning yourself up with what the Creator desires of you. Something I’ve learned in the last year is this:
Psalm 23

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
And so, sometimes, He places us in the Valley of the Shadow of Death…just because your situation isn’t ‘to your standards of good’ doesn’t mean its not where you’re supposed to be.
Delight yourself in Him

Passionate Life

The desires of your heart are not to be ignored; they are to be consulted. As the wind turns the weather vane, so God uses your passion to turn your life… I’m learning to give Him my passions.

Hard Ways to Learn Your Purpose

The resources are here. One year ago I began suffering from candida-induced eczema. Why is it that our bodies can scream “something is wrong!! Stop doing this!!’ but our brains don’t understand what ”this” is. Finding the root of any problem takes a lot of time..which requires patience…something I’ve tattooed my body with in order to remind me that God needs to be the leader and director-situations aren’t for me to control, but are an opportunity for His strength and power.

You can go back through my archives and see only a few posts in early 2013 that showcased my eczema. It is a hard topic to talk about, but as it has covered my body, it is getting easier to be translucent about it and use this vulnerability for good.

I question what my purpose is, aside from my ultimate purpose to worship my Creator, despite the hardships that invade. How does He want me to use my story and my passions…what are my passions anyways? And ya know what my husband said, “you should pray and ask God to show you what your passions are.”
I love being married.

So, I have been praying about it. The more I ponder it in my head, the more it makes sense that eventually I’ll be helping heal people in a different way than I am now. I can see how this spot that I’m in now, being in pharmacy, has helped me understand the side of medicine that is so bittersweet. But, I definitely don’t know enough.
Modern medicine has its pros and cons, just like herbals do.
I believe, from my pharmaceutical side, that too many people use herbs without knowing their toxicity and herb-to-herb interactions. Ignorant use of even herbs can be dangerous.
But, I also believe, from my earthy side, that too many people use drugs as their ‘answer’ when all they really are doing is treating the symptoms and not asking “WHY is my body reacting this way, WHY are these two things happening at the same time, WHY did this happen so soon?”…etc…

Maybe God is using my eczema to say, “Sarah, this is where I want you, and now that you’ve been through this horribly hard journey, you’re prepared even more…that’s right, I’m preparing you, preparing you for My glory.”

That Which We Do Not Yet Have

Goals in life keep us going.
Reaching the next foothold in the mountain gives us purpose and a focus, without these two we are sulking in our misery and waiting for something to happen without trying for it.

I believe that if you are in need of healing, you need to make goals to pursue.
I’m going to make myself vulnerable again to give you an example:
*Goals in no specific order at this time*

  • To be able to use my hands without worry of if my task will cause the pain in my hands to be worse.
  • To be able to flaunt myself to my husband without shame of my appearance.
  • To not be scared of taking showers. {cause of becoming too dry}
  • To be okay with people wanting to see my wedding ring.
  • No more consecutive restless nights of itching and pain.
  • To be able to give my husband a shoulder rub.
  • To not be afraid of what I eat and if I’ll have a reaction to it.
  • To help heal others because I am a testimony of healing.
  • To work out again; running and strength exercises

What goals have you set for yourself?
How are you going to begin to work towards one?

Romans 8:22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all.Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Second post as promised 🙂

.Day 5.

Psalm 138:8

“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me;
Your love, O Lord, endures forever–
do not abandon the works of Your hands.”

God has a purpose for me? Whoa! NEAT-O!

Ever wonder what we’re on the Earth for? Yeah, we know we’re here to spread the Gospel, but what I mean is more.
Where is God going to lead me, what will I do for Him?

I love to travel and play guitar, but I don’t know if I’m worth going into the music industry; it’s too hard and I’m not that good. I just play guitar in church and on my travels witness some of God’s miracles on Earth via scenery.

I wonder where I will be in three years.
Will I be in another state–country–continent?

What will I be doing?

I guess no matter where I will be, who I will be with, or when I know; I have faith that God has a purpose for me and that He will fulfill His promises. His love is all I need to get through each day.

Thank you Lord for your helping hands and your loving character.

I can’t wait to find out where God is going to lead me next, and how I will fall in love with Him even more.
