As dwellers of this Earth we have trials. We have people who we don’t like, things that annoy us, and moments where places bring back bad memories. There are times when we feel broken and unloved, when the world around us never stops moving and our schedule fills up with ink. Our lives sometimes feel like New York City, they never sleep.
Where is the peace we want? How can we find it? What really is peace?
Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
This is from an insert in my Bible and I REALLY like it:
Usually, we think of peace as something that happens when nothing else is happening. In other words, no conflict plus no worries equals peace. But, the Bible doesn’t tell us to sit around and hope for peace. It tells us to seek peace and pursue it. Do you want peace in your life and relationships? Do something about it. Be calm and patient instead of argumentative and angry. Try to change a situation rather than complain about it. Peace isn’t for passivists; it’s for activists.
In Psalms David shares this with our world:
“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.”
God hears you. All those times you have flooded your bed with tears or torn yourself up inside about a situation, God hears that. He knows what you are going through; there are PLENTY of stories in the Bible to prove my point. If you don’t think that God understands, feel free to share a situation and I will reply with Biblical proof that God knows what its like, or worse.

The only way to find peace in our lives is ‘through our Lord Jesus Christ’, as the book of Romans says.
“Be still, and know that I am God”
