Melody For Today

I have decided that today I would share a song with you.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!!!

This song is “Knowing You”:

All I once held dear,
built my life upon,
All this world reveres and wars to own;
All I once thought gain, I have counted loss,
Spent and worthless now compared to this.

Knowing You; Jesus, knowing You,
There is no greater thing,
You’re my all, You’re the best,
You’re my joy, my righteousness,
And I love you Lord.

Now my heart’s desire is to know You more,
To be found in You and known as Yours,
To possess by faith what I could not earn,
All surpassing gift of righteousness.

Oh, to know the power of Your risen life,
And to know You in Your sufferings;
To become like You in Your death, my Lord,
So, with You to live and never die.

I’m not going to write my thoughts down about this…I want you to read this song over and over, slower than you did before, and think about it. Think about how it relates to your life, or how you want this, or how you can use this song to tell others about what you have.
If it doesn’t touch you, then put on some slow classical INSTRUMENTAL music, so it creates a scene to help your thoughts feel the lyrics.

  1. This is one of my favorite songs, Sarah! This song hit me about a month ago when we were singing it in church! The simple truth of knowing Jesus means so much, especially on Easter! Thank you for posting these lyrics!

    Happy Easter!

  2. I love this song as well, Sarah!! I take those truthful lyrics for granted so many times!! How amazing it is that we know jesus and such a amazing relationship with Him!!!

    He is Risen!!
